Hubei Daily News (Reporter Li Xi, Correspondent Li Douming, Fang Kaijin) On the evening of May 30th, Wuhan Textile University Birmingham Fashion and Creativity College held a theme performance event titled “Party Flag Leading the Way, Chasing Dreams for the Future”.

All the performance programs are self-written, self-directed and self-performed by students of Birmingham Institute of Fashion and Creativity. 《Youth》 uses dance to interpret the revolutionary predecessors who wrote China with their immortal youth and relive the glorious years when they sacrificed their lives and shed their blood. The second batch of Young Marxist training Class students of the college presented the situational recitation 《The Age of Awakening》and the stage play 《Dawn》. Through the forms of “situational performance + artistic presentation” and “cross-temporal dialogue”, it tells the story of the large-scale strikes and demonstrations that broke out across the country during the Beiyang government's rule in 1919. A group of students led by Fu Sinian, who were devoted to their country and fearless of life and death, did not choose to remain silent in the face of the aggressive acts of Western powers against China, but fought to the death. Thus, the story of the May Fourth Movement unfolded, presenting a diverse audio-visual feast to the entire audience. The band performance 《I'm in the Strong Nation Generation》brought by the College House Music Club fully showcases the vigorous and enterprising spirit of the new era's youth, expressing their admiration and love for the great era and the beautiful life. The musical instrument and dance performance 《Ten Thousand Miles》 deeply intoxicated the audience present in the charm of ancient style, recreating the appeal of China's excellent traditional musical scales and jointly experiencing the broad-mindedness of the motherland. The drama performance 《What is Youth and What Is Youth》 recreates the long river of New China's journey from its early hardships to its current vigorous development, allowing all the audience to feel the strength of the new era's youth under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and be bathed in the ‘red’ baptism. The recitation and chorus program 《The Yellow River Cantata》selected by the college passionately eulogizes the long and glorious history of the Chinese nation and the indomitable fighting spirit of the Chinese people. The chorus 《Growing Towards the Sun》 performed by the members of the college chorus expresses that in this great and vigorous new era, the young people full of boundless power and pursuing progress are not afraid of the ups and downs and setbacks of life. With faith and dreams, they are growing vigorously towards the direction of the sun. It aroused strong resonance among the audience on the spot and won thunderous applause. Finally, the performance event came to a successful conclusion amid the rousing and majestic strains of the 《Internationale》.

The Party Committee of Birmingham Institute of Fashion and Creativity attaches great importance to the ideological and political work of students.
