On April 11th, Xiang Rong, the Party Secretary of Birmingham College, and Li Douming, the Deputy Party Secretary, led a team to visit three enterprises to carry out the special action of visiting enterprises and expanding job opportunities. Zhang Xiaorui and Zhang Xinyi, the counselors of the 2021 graduating class, and Xu Jiadi, the counselor of the 2022 class, accompanied the visit and successively went to Hetian Xingrui Education Group, Wuhan Duanjing Landscape Engineering Co., LTD., and Aohua Decoration Design Engineering Co., Ltd. for research. They conducted multi-dimensional exchanges on aspects such as school-enterprise cooperation, internships and employment, and talent cultivation.
The first stop was the Hetian Xingrui Education Group, where the group's principal Liu Jinqi, the principal of the Optics Valley Campus Wang Gaoxin, brand designer and outstanding alumnus of the 2020 grade Liu Zhicong, as well as the channel manager Cui Yuanjun, warmly received them. As an outstanding graduate of the 2024 class of the college, Liu Zhicong was recruited by the group immediately after graduation and quickly grew into a key force, thanks to the solid professional skills he developed during his school years. Accompanied by President Liu Jinqi, the college team conducted an on-site inspection of the teaching and research and development center and the creative office space, and observed in detail the full-process system of art education of Hetian Group. At the symposium, President Liu Jinqi gave a detailed introduction to the basic situation of the enterprise. By sorting out the development evolution and process, she comprehensively sketched out the growth trajectory of the enterprise. At the same time, centering on the educational characteristics of the Sino-foreign cooperative art program of Birmingham College, and from the perspective of the industry's cutting-edge, this paper prospectively interprets the technological innovation trends and market expansion blueprints in the design field, providing an important reference for deepening the optimization of the school-enterprise collaborative education mechanism. Both the school and the enterprise had an in-depth discussion on the integration of “industry-university-research-application”, and highlighted the outstanding works of the college's 2025 graduates, which received high praise from the enterprise.
In the afternoon, Xiang Rong and his team moved to Wuhan Duanjing Landscape Engineering Co., LTD. The company's director, Pan Yuxin, along with the core team, attended the meeting. As an emerging enterprise dedicated to the high-end landscape design field, Pan Yuxin systematically introduced the company's corporate culture, development history and project cases, particularly emphasizing the urgent need of the enterprise for compound talents in environmental design at present. Xiangrong, in light of the professional training characteristics of the college and the development trends of the industry, proposed the direction of talent cultivation and the specific model of school-enterprise cooperation. Both sides reached a preliminary cooperation intention on jointly building an off-campus practice base.
The last stop was at Aohua Decoration Design Engineering Co., Ltd.The company's Human Resources Director, Mr. Yang, and the Design department manager, Mr. Wang, accompanied the entire visit to the company's exhibition hall. During the exchange session, Mr. Yang elaborately introduced the company's development history and business areas, with a focus on analyzing the job demands of the enterprise in professional sectors such as whole-house customization and graphic design. Li Douming stated in the exchange that Birmingham College is committed to cultivating applied design talents with innovative spirit and practical ability, and looks forward to achieving talent co-cultivation through cooperation with enterprises. Finally, both sides signed a school-enterprise cooperation agreement on the spot, further deepening their cooperation.
This visit to enterprises and job position expansion is not only an important measure to promote the integration of industry and education and serve students, but also a significant opportunity for the college to further expand the scope of cooperation and innovate cooperation.
